Welcome!
Humans are inextricably linked with natural resources in a tightly coupled system whereby the actions and behaviors of humans directly and indirectly effect the quantity and quality of natural resources on the planet. Natural resource quality and availability likewise effects survival and health of humans. There is strong evidence that sustainable management of these resources requires a deeper understanding of human cooperation, individual behaviors, and information sharing. Our work investigates these concepts in natural and managed ecosystems. We have several ongoing and new projects that use qualitative (interview and focus group), quantitative (survey and observational) data, and use agent-based, predictive, and spatial modeling techniques in addition to descriptive and exploratory work .
